This happens regularly when I switch apps bewteen chrome and vscode. After 10-20 sec, everything turns to good. When VS Code is not responding, my Chrome costs CPU over 50%: Maybe because VS Code froze and didn’t crash.Īny help is really appreciated. Since I need the extensions for development and I can’t quickly reproduce the freeze, I couldn’t test if the freeze eventually occurs with all extensions disabled.Īlso, I tried recording a crash dump as described here, but no dump was created. My extensions are: code -install-extension alefragnani.BookmarksĬode -install-extension cschlosser.doxdocgenĬode -install-extension jeff-hykin.better-cpp-syntaxĬode -install-extension mhutchie.git-graphĬode -install-extension ms-python.pythonĬode -install-extension ms-python.vscode-pylanceĬode -install-extension ms-toolsai.jupyterĬode -install-extension ms-toolsai.jupyter-keymapĬode -install-extension ms-toolsai.jupyter-renderersĬode -install-extension ms-vscode-remote.remote-containersĬode -install-extension ms-vscode-remote.remote-sshĬode -install-extension ms-vscode-remote.remote-ssh-editĬode -install-extension ms-vscode-remote.remote-wslĬode -install-extension ms-vscode.cmake-toolsĬode -install-extension ms-vscode.cpptoolsĬode -install-extension ms-vscode.cpptools-extension-packĬode -install-extension ms-vscode.cpptools-themesĬode -install-extension todocstringĬode -install-extension trond-snekvik.simple-rst

Then I have to terminate VS Code and restart it. I have been having issues with VS Code randomly slowing down and freezing until macOS asks to stop it. I’m using the latest stable VS Code on my MacBook Pro 2021 with M1 chip for programming Python (and C++).
